Small Business Administration opens Ida recovery center in York County

Assistance is available for those who suffered damage from Hurricane Ida.

The US Small Business Administration has opened a business recovery center at York County Economic Alliance, 144 Roosevelt Ave. in York. Its hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Customer service representatives can answer questions about the SBA’s disaster loan program and work one-on-one with business owners to complete their requests.

Visitors are encouraged to wear a face mask when visiting.

Among the avenues available to businesses according to an SBA press release:

  • Businesses and private nonprofits of any size can borrow up to $ 2 million to repair or replace property, machinery and equipment damaged or destroyed by a disaster.
  • Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private non-profit organizations can apply for economic disaster loans to help meet the working capital needs caused by the disaster. . They are available regardless of whether or not the claimant suffered property damage.
  • Disaster loans up to $ 200,000 for homeowners to repair or replace real estate damaged or destroyed by a disaster.
  • Disaster loans up to $ 40,000 to repair or replace personal property damaged or destroyed by a disaster.

The filing deadline for returning property damage claims is November 9. The deadline for returning claims for economic damages is June 10, 2022.
